Villa Ticino
Villa Ticino

  Access:
Our parking area is locked from approximately 20h00 to around 07h30. If you wish to depart early or arrive a little later this has to be done by prior arrangement only.

Arrival & Departure:
Your room is ready for occupancy at 15h00 on day of arrival and has to be vacated latest by 10h00 on day of departure.

Banks:
Sabie has two banks (Standard & First National Bank) which will exchange money/traveller cheques. Please note that this might take some time in a small village and that the bank is charging commission. There are three ATM machines within 100 m walking distance from Villa Ticino. It is also possible to draw money with your EC-card (Maestrocard) from ATM machines. Banks are open from 09h00 to 15h30 on weekdays and 08h30 to 11h00 on Saturdays. The next American Express Exchange is at the Riverside Shopping Mall, Nelspruit approximately 50 kms from Sabie. There is another Exchange Bureau at the Crossing Shopping Complex in Nelspruit.

Cell Phones/Handies:
Vodacom, MTN and Cell-C signals are received in Sabie. It is also possible to purchase SIM-Cards to change the handy to a local network.

Dinner:
Please note that we do not serve dinner at all as Villa Ticino is within walking distance of six restaurants.

Hiking:
The best time in our area for hiking is during the months mid April to mid September as it is not too hot and we should not have afternoon thunderstorms.

Laundry:
We do not offer an in-house laundry service, but a Laundromat (closed Saturday afternoons and Sundays) is 30 meters away and will deliver your cleaned laundry to Villa Ticino. You just have to tell them that you are staying with us.

Liquor
:
Villa Ticino is fully licensed and offers a small selection of drinks for resident guests at our honesty bar.

Medical
Assistance/Supply: Doctors’ room and pharmacies are within a short walk from Villa Ticino. A provincial hospital is also in Sabie. The medical supply and assistance in South Africa is on average very good.

Other:
Regret, strictly no pets and no self-catering or use of kitchen.

Parking:
Do not leave your car unattended when your doors and boot (trunk) is open for loading and/or unloading suitcases in any parking area. This is really an invitation to take the opportunity and is asking for trouble! Also do not leave anything visible in the car – rather take everything out or lock it in the boot.

Petrol:
South African petrol stations do in general not accept normal credit cards. Therefore please ensure that you have enough cash on hand for petrol.

Safety:
• Do not leave articles visible in the car and always lock your vehicle.
• Avoid driving at night as animals crossing streets and road signs are not easily visible.
• Avoid walking at night in deserted areas. Always ask somebody knowledgeable about safety in the area as it differs from town to town.

Shopping
:
Most shops are opening up between 08h00 and 09h00 and are closing at 17h00. Bigger stores like the Spar are open longer partly from 07h00 to 19h00 but shorter on Sundays.

Smoking:
We request our guests to please refrain from smoking indoors as the whole house is a non-smoking area according to South African law which banned smoking in public places. Please note this includes guest bedrooms as well as bathrooms. Smoking is not permitted in enclosed public premises by law.

Sunrise/Sunset:
Sabie lies on the Eastern side of the country. Therefore the sun rises early and it gets dark early.
October - April: around 4h30/around 19h00
May – September: around 6h30/around 17h30
